The first 9 elements allow you to specialize into certain elementals. NOTE : This improves your skill while hunting monsters of this specific monster. The Use Bonus points section allows you to use bonus points in a variety of ways - from generating baits to use to temporary bonuses. 2. LABORATORY Buying Baits-- Basically there is two ways to purchase baits. The simplest is buying common baits from the option "buy common baits". Additionally, you can browse the P2P market for baits that other players are selling. You can also list baits for sale as long as they are 0 durability. Synthesis-- Every 24 hours, a new Gene Key is generated. You can use genes gained from monsters to generate a bonus. The bonus is 10 random baits generated as if you purchased them with real money. Note : You can get gene codes from monsters as you cash them in. Every monster will generate a gene represented by a letter A to Z. Not all genes are as easy to get as other. Each monster has a limited range of genes it can produce so it is best to pay attention. Sometimes, depending on your situation -- you may want to hunt a certain monster type to complete a code. Each gene code is 7 letters long. Your odds of receiving a genetic piece is 1:12 weigh ins or slightly higher for boss+ monsters. Note : When you collect all gene pieces for a code, you LOSE those gene pieces when you receive your reward. There is no way to sell, trade or buy gene pieces. They are unique to you and cannot be sold. It is inevitable that you will receive duplicates -- it is just part of the game. 3. COMMUNITY The community area forum is a built in forum for the game. It is highly suggested you visit it and mingle with the other players. You can report bugs, make suggestions for the game and even seek advice. It is a highly valuable resource for new player and veteran player alike. 4. SYSTEM System is a data section that features lists of records from global records to your own personal records. It is pretty self-explanatory. 5. HUNTING WALKTHROUGH ~ If you just begun the game -- I will walk you through catching your first monster. ~ To begin -- click GO HUNTING if you haven't already and select the region available to you -- "Amathon, The Ruined City". It is the first link available below the world map. ~ Click (Start Here) next to 1 Amathon - Dimensional gate. ~ [[Note On Dimensional Gates : These are the way you enter and leave areas. You will NOT get credit for any monsters you catch if you do not leave the area from a dimension gate. If you run out of time without leaving the area properly, you will receive NOTHING. Your immortal powers allow you to sustain yourself in a dimension up to 4 hours (real time)]] ~ You will be presented with a message explaining the rules for dimensional hunting. You always receive this message. Click BEGIN YOUR HUNT when you are ready. ~ This is the main navigation page. On the left hand side of the table, you are shown a picture of the area you are in. A short description will be presented in the center area. On the far right side, you will be displayed a list of areas you can move to. In this demonstration, we will hunt right where we are. Despite the fact this is a dimension gate, monsters still lurk here. ~ To begin trapping for your first monster, notice the Bottom part of the window that reads Trapping. You can select an amount of time to trap(10 is recommended. If you get something, it'll stop immediately. There is rarely a reason to trap less time.) Next, pull down the drop down menu. It will begin with Canyon Coal on the list but we'll want to trap with SPEM. SPEM is basically a small meat product. Notice next to its name it says (Common)(Flesh)(Small). Every bait has characteristics listed next to it. Finally, click the button that says Trap directly below. ~ Congratulations! You have begun trapping for 10 minutes. Click the link to continue to Watch Mode. ~ Watch mode allows you the unique opportunity to watch what is happening real time. You don't have to sit here and stare at this page but you can see valuable information such as other monsters and players. ~ When you trap a monster, you will hear a sound(it is similar to dice rattling.) A link will appear reading ALERT : You have a monster trapped!!! . Click this to BEGIN the trapping process. It usually only takes about 2 to 4 minutes to trap your first monster. It might take longer so don't panic. ~ You may have lured the monster to you but now you have to actually catch it -- this is the hard part. In our case, we are after small game so what you trap shouldn't be too hard but it is part of the fun of the game that variety exists. Anyways - You are on the Fight page. The table is divded into 4 important sections. The top most section is a long green bar. This bar represents your danger and an estimation of remaining hitpoints left for the monster. In case the length of the bar isn't important to you, you can also view the hitpoints of the monster below that bar. If you just started the combat, the monster will have full hit points and the first number will be bolded. On the left hand side if your monster fighting bonus. This goes up as you advance your equipment as explained previously in the manual. If you just started the game, you don't have any money to do that now anyway. In the center of the table are the fight options. Pull, as it sounds, pulls the monster towards you with your rod. The pull reduces the monster's hitpoints. When you pull, you risk your danger level going up. When you start a fight, you are automatically in green(low) danger but if you pull and the monster resists your pull, it may go up. In some cases, the monster can even regain hitpoints. Push is a defensive action. It allows the monster to gain some hitpoints but you gain 1 level of danger back. You can only push if the monster is below its maximum hitpoints. Lastly is release. This ends the combat immediatly and your bait loses half the durability it would lose if you lost it on a pull action. This is HUGELY important for saving money, especially if you are in a position where you think your next pull will result in a loss! Many players who do not use release properly will face much harder financial losses replacing baits then they need to. Finally, in the right part of the window is data on the monster. Monster title is the rarity of the monster. This ranges from Wimpy III to Perfect. Higher rarity means higher level, and more hit points. Endurance, lastly, lowers the monster's ability to resist your pulls. A monster can lose endurance during a your actions. OK - begin by pulling the monster. ~ With any luck, you should pull in the monster. You will want to repeat this action until you gain 10 or more stars/i.e. the monster has no hitpoints. If you encounter a situation where your danger is blue or red, you will want to push the monster to gain some danger back. If the monster is reduced to 0 hp, pull one more time to officially capture it. You will then be presented with a summary of the monster. It will show a picture of the monster, its level, hit points and value. Click Continue to return to the navigation page. ~ Congratulations if you managed to catch your first monster! You can keep up to 5 monsters at a time to be paid when you leave the dimension. You can view the monsters you have currently caught in the Soul Tank. You can release monsters you don't want to keep from there. ~ So you got it? You can move to other places in the area on the navigation page. Every area has different monsters/monster populatons/etc. No two places are identical. You use different baits to capture different species of monsters. Some monsters are vegetarians. Some monsters are meat eaters. Some are something entirely different than either. It is up to you to experiment and learn what bait works on what and where. Just click Leave Dimension at the dimensional gate when you are ready to be paid for the 5 monsters you caught. ~ So now, enjoy the game -- hunt some monsters -- upgrade -- buy new baits and expand your immortality as the greatest monster hunter in the game. 6. Long Term Stuff -- Tournaments Gold Rush Quests~ These happen every 24 hours. If you complete a gold rush quest, you can $50 or 1 bonus point When someone completes a gold rush quest, a new one is generated. Weekly Hunting Tournaments~ These happen once a week. Basically, it is based on the combined HP of the top 15 monsters for each player. So you want to catch 15 very big monsters of that specific type to rank high. Note on Quests : Sometimes quests can duplicate. This is part of the game. It is possible that a weekly tournament will literally have the same monster -- therefore, payout is DOUBLE in a sense for that monster. These will definately be more competitive then non-duped tournaments.
